Bindery Capacity Planner

We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident Bindery Capacity Planner to join our Production Control team. The Production Control team are responsible for scheduling the production plan throughout the factory with two main aims: meeting or customer’s dates and maximising productivity. The team enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and being close to both administration and manufacturing departments.

We are looking for an individual who can work well under pressure both independently and within a team to be fast reacting to an ever-changing plan.

To be successful as a Bindery Capacity Planner you should be able to carry out all tasks with high attention to detail. Ultimately, a Bindery Capacity Planner should be highly organized and possess a proactive attitude to work.

About You:

  • Experience in a Production Planning/Capacity Planning role is required – ideally within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand machine capabilities in order to set a production plan that maximises production efficiencies in the bindery to include digital.
  • Sequence work in optimum order to maximise batching and machine performance in all areas of the business.
  • Ensure the plan set enables all copy dates to be met.
  • Set a weekly shift plan, and amend the plan as required to minimise costs whilst ensuring sufficient capacity for customer agreements.
  • Consider implications of change in plan on all interfacing areas, utilising excellent team-working skills to agree a workable solution for all parties.
  • Having a good knowledge of what is in the loads, such as fulfilment work or opportunities to split work in order to problem solve.
  • To be able to provide some schedules for titles outside of contractual agreements.
  • To be able to cover Bindery Production Planner role, and other holiday cover as required.
