Our IT development team is highly integrated with our business, working extremely closely with end users to improve working practices through developing new workflows or streamlining existing processes.
We have vacancies within our IT Development team for both a Junior Developer and a more experienced developer role.
The junior role provides an ideal opportunity for a developer embarking on their career who is looking to build their skills and learn how to work closely with the business to make real improvements.
Initially the job will take on primary responsibility for creating reports from Clays ERP for use by internal and external customers. The successful candidate will work on improving management information and support important data improvement projects.
Both candidates will be responsible for designing and developing systems in or supporting Clays ERP. The scope of these projects is extremely varied and the suitable candidate will have an opportunity to have a wide impact on the business.
• Define operational requirements, problems, and opportunities, through consulting with internal and external customers. Ensure requirements are clearly defined and documented.
• Find effective business solutions by identifying options for consideration, outlining potential benefits.
• Ensure solutions are easy to use, update and maintain in order to meet the key business system objectives
• Take technical responsibility for own software development.
Experience of basic programming languages, databases, or Structured query languages (SQL) in either a workplace or educational setting would be an advantage. However, full training will be given so experience with programming principles, a natural aptitude for problem solving and a proactive work attitude are more important.
For the more experienced role, we would be particularly interested in talking to programmers with PICK or Multi-value experience. However, any experience working with legacy systems or within a business with a highly integrated development team or manufacturing environment would be valued.
