We have a vacancy within our IT Development team for a Developer specialising in reporting.
This role provides the opportunity for a developer embarking on their career who is looking to build their skills and learn how to work closely with the business to make real improvements.
Initially the job will take on primary responsibility for creating reports from Clays ERP for use by internal and external customers. The successful candidate will work on improving management information and support important data improvement projects.
In addition, the candidate will be responsible for designing and developing systems in or supporting Clays ERP. The scope of these projects is extremely varied, and the suitable candidate will have an opportunity to have a wide impact on the business.
• Define operational requirements, problems, and opportunities, through consulting with internal and external customers. Ensure requirements are clearly defined and documented.
• Find effective business solutions by identifying options for consideration, outlining potential benefits.
• Ensure solutions are easy to use, update and maintain in order to meet the key business system objectives
• Take technical responsibility for own software development.
Experience of basic programming languages, databases, or structured query languages (SQL) in either a workplace or educational setting would be an advantage. However, full training will be given so experience with programming principles, a natural aptitude for problem solving and a proactive work attitude are more important.
We would also be interested in talking to more experienced programmers particularly those with PICK or Multi-value experience.
